How to control the rust removal effect of sandblasting machine

       When using a sandblasting machine to derust the workpiece, how to control the sandblasting machine so that its operation can reach the function we need?

   1. Early control

   When we start sandblasting, we will refer to the rules of "Steel Surface Rust Grade and Derust Grade before Painting" to appraise the surface rust grade of metal structure base. Carefully check and remove welding slag, splashes and other attached garbage, and clean the surface grease and soluble dirt. Useless welding or joints should also be properly handled.

   2. Abrasive control

The sand used for sandblasting and rust removal requires solid particles, edges and corners, dry and free of soil and other impurities. Quartz sand is better, coarse river sand is also acceptable; at the same time, the sand transportation conditions, unit price unevenness, recycling ability and other factors should be considered .   3. Environmental control

   Some ship sandblasting and rust removal are open-air operations. It is necessary to pay attention to dust prevention and environmental maintenance during construction. It is also necessary to check the ambient temperature, humidity and metal surface temperature of the construction site daily and make construction records. No construction is allowed when the relative air humidity is greater than 85% and the metal surface temperature is lower than 3°C.

   4. Process control

  The compressed air used by the manual sandblasting machine must be treated by cooling equipment and an oil-water separator to ensure dryness and oil-free; the oil-water separator must be cleaned regularly. After the sandblasting and rust removal are completed, before we proceed to the next process, if it rains or the surface of the base steel is wet, wait for the environment to reach the construction conditions, and then use dry compressed air to dry the surface moisture before construction. If sandblasting is required from the head, the abrasive requirement cannot be lowered to avoid lowering the roughness. When sandblasting, the nozzle should not stay somewhere for a long time. Scattered operations should be avoided during sandblasting, but the spray area should not be too large at one time. The time interval between the coating or thermal spraying process and the surface pretreatment process should be considered. Use craftsmanship or power tools to remove rust on the parts where the spray gun cannot erupt.
